As an award-winning destination management company since 1999, Asian Trails has led the way in designing and executing travel services through its extensive network of offices across East and South-East Asia.

Founded in Thailand in 1999 by Luzi Matzig (ex Diethelm Travel), Asian Trails prides itself on its extensive specialized knowledge, expertise and integrity that has been the cornerstone of a “yes, we can” attitude. Luzi was soon joined by tourism professionals like Laurent Kuenzle and Jacques Guichandut.

And already in the same year, Asian Trails sets up its office network throughout Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia. In 2000, there was location expansion with the opening of branch offices in Phuket, Khao Lak and Samui.

In 2004, Asian Trails becomes an official IATA-accredited agent.

In 2008, Asian Trails commences inbound operations in China.

In 2017, Thomas Cook India Ltd, a subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Holdings Canada, acquires ownership of Asian Trails Holding with Luzi Matzig and Laurent Kuenzle.

In 2018, Asian Trails Vietnam is the first office in the Asian Trails Group to be officially accredited as a Travelife Partner. The same year, all Asian Trails destinations obtain Travelife Partner certification
